The film "Sartre: The Look" is part of a series of animated films on philosophical texts about perception and comprehension. The films present short passages by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre as spoken text and interpret them simultaneously through their visuals. The aim of the films is to twofold: Firstly, they explore, how these text by employ language to develop and convey their ideas. They thereby investigate in the phenomenology of the texts: their modes of construction of meaning, their main metaphors, etc. Secondly, these texts by white famous males that are normally seen as rigid and rational. The films try to make their emotional and sensual aspects visible.
