on Feb. 18th, 2010 - the Brecht Forum(brechtforum.org) in NYC hosted a book reading for 'Talking With Sartre' by John Gerassi which also featured Lewis R. Gordon. The BROTHERWISE DISPATCH (brotherwise.com) was there and covered the event for our readers. Here is an excerpt which focuses on some of Lewis R. Gordon remarks on the consistency of Sartre's solidarity with Black Liberation struggles.

Lewis R. Gordon is Director of the Institute for the Study of Race and Social Thought. He also is Director of the Center for Afro-Jewish Studies and a Laura H. Carnell Professor of Philosophy at Temple University and President of the Caribbean Philosophical Association. Professor Gordon has written many works in race theory, Africana philosophy, postcolonial phenomenology, philosophy of existence, social and political philosophy, film and literature, philosophy of education, philosophy of human sciences, and a variety of topics in the public interest.
