Philosophy of War

Part 2 explains the ideas of Carl von Clausewitz in relation to industrial interstate warfare and its most extreme form, total war. The film is set to the extremes of the pacific theatre of World War Two. Viewer beware. The philosophy of war thinks about war. See Part 1 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80LNe7Bbpug

Clausewitz wrote On War between 1815 and 1830, though it was not published in his lifetime. The translation of Clausewitz's On War that I'm working with and reading from in the film is by Michael Howard and Peter Paret, published by Princeton University Press, 1976.
