Anthony Long on Marcus Aurelius (1 of 2)

Professor Anthony Long, perhaps the world's foremost expert on Stoic philosophy, gives a rare talk in London on the Roman emperor and Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius. Long explores with typical care and intelligence some of Marcus' unusual ideas about the self, consciousness, identity and 'the god within'. Thanks to the Institute of Classics for arranging the event. If you're interested in how people try to follow Stoicism today, check out my book, Philosophy for Life and Other Dangerous Situations:
